I am reading Doors Open by Ian Rankin and I really want to flip to the back of the book and just see what happens. Who can walk away from this and who is going to go down. I am not sure that I have it in me to take the tension right now. I just stopped myself once from peeking.
I know that Mike and crew trying to steal the paintings is wrong. I was wondering how Rankin would handle the good guys doing wrong scenario and I see that the power of all this is just starting to corrupt Mike a little. Strangely enough I am enjoying Chib Calloway. I really want them to get away with this heist so far.
I don’t want Inspector Ransome to win out and put them away by a long shot. Part of the genius of this book is that so many odds are introduced against the would be robbers from the very beginning. They are not starting out in the safe bubble that they think they are, but the reader can only wring hands and worry it will all work out!
